FOREE

Equipping actors in forestry training with digital learning skills

Hybrid learning concepts and tools in forestry education

The objective of the ERASMUS+ project FOREE is to develop a Train-the-Trainer course (ToT) and MOOC on blended learning models to transform European forestry education from purely classroom-based courses to a flexible hybrid education system through the complementary use of digital learning concepts, tools and platforms and their broad application in adult forestry training courses.

European lighthouse project
  • for the promotion of teaching(er) competence for hybrid knowledge transfer in forestry education and training
  • Content: Train-the-trainer course for teachers and trainers of forestry training institutions on the creation of digital teaching content and its use in practical knowledge transfer.
  • Aim: Attractiveness of the forestry teaching profession (obsolescence in all partner countries), knowledge transfer to “new”/offer forest owners for active forest management.
  • Project development by Holzcluster Steiermark based on results from Rosewood4.0
The trainers and educators through FOREE project will
  • improve their own knowledge base on eDidactics, blended learning models, digital tools and platforms
  • develop a joint approach for hybrid courses due their lack of e-didactic skills, missing knowledge on supporting technology and digital content creation
  • prepare the basis for a future-oriented, flexible and attractive multi-modal learning environment that will boost the attractiveness of jobs in forestry education for a younger generation,
  • exchange skills and experiences related to digital teaching between education centers and across borders,
  • exploit the interactivity and rapid loops of learning, tracking, feedback and course optimization provided by use of technology.
