Design involves emotions, swinging between like and dislike, delight and disappointment, indignation and indifference. Who says what’s aesthetically pleasing? Who says what works, who for and why? And who is the judge of good taste, and why?
Design is also a question of tolerance. This is why Designmonat Graz, the month-long festival for design in the city, is highlighting the issue of tolerance. It challenges tolerance – and calls for it! And it also challenges you: with an exciting programme, unusual graphic design and a whole lot of ideas over a period of 4 weeks!

Designmonat Graz 2018 and the exhibitions in the Joanneumsviertel will be opened by Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, Member of the State Government responsible for Economy, Tourism, Europe and Culture, and Mayor Siegfried Nagl.
